Give your pet a resistance
Magical Crystals are used with an active pet. Baia, Koradji, and Nexo offer different sets of resistances, so choose the keeper whose options suit your companion. A Magical Crystal +1 requires a pet of at least level 30.
Try the primer
Ask Baia in Blython about the Pet Resistances primer at character level 30.
Accept the primer and summon an eligible pet.
Give a Magical Crystal to Baia, Koradji, or Nexo.
Read the resistance choices and decide what to keep.
Return to Baia in Blython or Newgrove.
The practice objective is recorded when the crystal is consumed. Discarding its offered resistance does not refund the crystal. Rerolling consumes more crystals, and some services also require Service Rate.
Plan before using more crystals
A pet can have only one crystal of each level applied at a time; higher levels require stronger pets. Check the game's eligibility message for the crystal you intend to use.
If you plan to transfer resistances from an egg through Liena, do that before applying crystals or evolution bonuses: the recipient must have neither. Compare your companion's starting resistances in the bestiary.
