Learn a forging school
The forge helpers in Demon Square teach the equipment disciplines. Each school progresses independently. Start with the Helmet Helper's Forging primer, available at level 30, and use its practice helmet and Small Iron Ore.
Accept the primer and learn the appropriate school.
Give the matching helper equipment and suitable ore. Ordinary ore must match the equipment's level.
Complete the forge's choices to finish the piece.
Return to the Helmet Helper in Demon Square.
Read the choices
Forging raises the equipment's level and adds bonuses based on the forge session. The choices describe their safe, balanced, and daring approaches. A daring choice is a risk, not a guaranteed improvement.
If a piece is rejected
Check that the equipment permits forging, that the equipment and ore are unlocked, and that you have learned the correct school. Your level in that school must be high enough for the equipment. Learning one school does not give the same level to the others.
Forging and equipment enhancement are separate systems: enhancement uses slots for essences, gems, and reagents.
